Built in 1908 on a hill in Hakodate residential district on Hokkaido Island- the building once housed the consulate of Imperial Russia. It has since been renovated with the addition of a new wing dedicated to wellness. In the original residence- now the Consulate Wing- two spacious suites of 1080 square feet preserve the charm of the past along with a monumental dark-wood staircase, a marble entrance hall with geometric tiling, ornate ceilings and crystal chandeliers. The Wellness Wing features an indoor pool, hammam-sauna area, and fire pit in the communal area along with four expansive suites. Each with its own dry sauna, water bath, and furnished with elegant designer pieces throughout. Such moments of serenity are destined to be crowned by a delightful dinner in one of the hotel two restaurants.
